Volunteers are critical to the success of the Guiding movement. Whether you are new to Guiding, have a few years under your belt or are a life-long member, young women and seasoned members can bring a variety of experiences to our organizations. With the 4th largest membership in the country it takes a province to put girls first- so we need your HELP! 

Who is eligible?

-   ​  Nova Scotia adult guiders with current membership

-     Guiders of any age or experience bracket

-     Guiders who have a passion for Girl Guides

Available Positions

We are looking for interested Guiders for the following positions.  Detailed descriptions are at Committee Responsibilities.

Join the Provincial Girl Engagement Team!  Questions can be directed to Girl Engagement

This team plans and executes fun and action packed events for girls across the province. We’re looking for your help in the following roles:

  • Program Advisor- Challenging our girls to be the best they can by promoting a great program that builds skills.   Arts + Active Living + STEM = Program!  

Join the Provincial Member Services Team!   Questions can be directed to Member Services

This team promotes membership, provides training and supports guiders, including Link and Trefoil members.  We’re looking for your help in the following roles:

  • Public Relations Advisor- (starting June 3rd 2017) Guiding is Great! There are lots of ways to get the good word about Guiding out and help promote Guiding across our Province.

Join the Provincial Risk Management Team! Questions can be directed to Risk Management

  • Risk Management & Compliance Advisor- Working with the Safe Guide Advisor, Camp Properties Regulations Advisor and the Area Commissioner, you will help identify areas for risk & support members with GGC Policies & Guidelines.

  • Provincial Safe Guide Adviser- The Provincial Safe Guide Adviser oversees all things “Safe Guide” related.  She has a strong understanding of the Safe Guide protocols and procedures within the province. Working with the Provincial Assessors, she provides support, on-going communication, and guidance to current Assessors and screens and trains new Assessors.

  • Provincial Safe Guide Assessors

    The Provincial Safe Guide Assessor(s) works with the Provincial Safe Guide Assessor team and Adviser to assess Safe Guide paperwork for events and activities.

  • Girl Guides NS is seeking guiders for the and Dartmouth Shore & Tri-Waters Area to help girls and Guiders in their area and make strategic contributions to provincial level initiatives.
