Guiding offers many exciting opportunities to learn and develop skills, experience new challenges and receive recognition along the way. 

Below is a listing of events that are currently being planned that may pertain to you as a member, daughter/ward or the girls in your unit.

Provincial Youth Forum 

Girl Guides of Canada, Nova Scotia Council is excited to be forming the first ever Provincial Youth Forum (3rd year Pathfinders, Rangers, and Transitioning Members) and we want you to be part of it!

International Chef Challenge - Saturday,  May 6th 
Calling all Guides, Pathfinders and Trex members !! Do you like to cook? Even better- do you like to do outdoor cooking? Have a flair for decorating? Mildly competitive?
If you said yes to any of the above, then this event is for you !! Each Area is hosting an International Chef Challenge and you are invited to enter teams to participate in this event, so check out the information sheet for more info and plan to see us at the Challenge !!

Brownie Camp Skills Day - May 27th 
Brownies come and join us for a day at Camp Kanada to get some camp skills.

Come and Tent with Us - May 26-28th
Units from all levels are invited to come and tent for the weekend of May 26-28th at Camp Kanada.  
Want to camp but feel nervous, camp with others and learn from one another. 
Want to camp but can't find a location  Province has booked the camp just bring your own gear and camp with many sisters in Guiding

STEM Event: March 26th 2017

We are excited to team up with Engineers Nova Scotia to deliver this exciting STEM event.  It is a fun-filled day of science, experiments, innovation, and learning.  Guides are exposed to a wide variety of STEM activities that will spark their interest in this important field.

Event Details 

What: STEM Event with Engineers NS
Who: All Guides registered in NS
When: Sunday, March 26th, 2017, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Where: NSCC, Waterfront Campus, 80 Mawiomi Place, Dartmouth, NS
Why: Because STEM is cool!
Cost: Free, but Guides are required to bring their own lunch.

Application process: Please send the following three forms to addresses listed on Application by Mar 20th, 2017:

Applications will be placed into a lottery selection process as space is limited, and we're expecting a large number of girls to apply to this popular event.  Parents will be notified via email about acceptance to the event on March 21, 2017. For more information or with questions, please contact Wendy at   


Provincial Youth Recognition 
The Lady Baden-Powell Award (Guides),Canada Cord Award (Pathfinders) and Chief Commissioners Gold Award (Rangers)are the highest ward that the girls can earn. 
Girls who have earned these awards are invited to receive their pin and certificates from the Provincial Commissioner and invited guests.

This year’s event will take place on Sat June 10th
Location: Spatz Theater, Citadel High School, 1855 Trollope St, Halifax

Ceremony  time:  2pm – 4pm.
Deadline for application submission: May 12th
