Training

GGC is committed to supporting you in your volunteer position in Nova Scotia

One source of that support is training. Whether you are a new unit leader, a Commissioner or an experienced adviser, training teaches you new skills and energizes you for the year ahead.

Nova Scotia's Training Team is here to help!
Training is offered in a variety of ways via group training, one to one training or on line through e-Learning.
National has information on Unit Guider Training Opportunities for Orientation to Guiding, Safe Guide and more.

E-Learning - offers the flexibility for online learning and the area training calendar identifies scheduled training where you can learn and share experiences in a group setting with women just like you. E-Learning is a  learning option that goes beyond putting a regular document online. E-learner's receive information through slides, pop-up text boxes and audio video-clips.  Additional Information

  • GIRL PROTECTION
Have you ever asked yourself one of the following questions? How would I know if one of my girls is being abused?,  What would I do if she disclosed abuse to me? ,  How should I act with my girls to protect myself from accusations of abuse? ,  What does GGC say about Girl Protection? These are important questions to which Guiders need to know the answers. Many trainings touch on Girl Protection, but don't provide enough time to ask more. This session will provide participants with answers to these questions and others as well as an opportunity to discuss concerns about child abuse.
Please join us in Halifax on Saturday, March 4th from 1:00-2:30pm. The location will depend on registration but will be provided to participants in advance of the training.
