GGC is committed to supporting you in your volunteer position in Nova Scotia

One source of that support is training. Whether you are a new unit leader, a Commissioner or an experienced adviser, training teaches you new skills and energizes you for the year ahead.

Training is offered in a variety of ways via group training, one to one training or on line through e-Learning.

PROVINCIAL CONFERENCE 2017
Every 2 years the NS Provincial Council hosts a unit Guider Conference that is open to all Guiders & Youth members.  
On November 24th & 26th Guiders from across the NS will gather in Halifax for a weekend of Training and fellowship- why not be a part of the fun this year !!

E-LEARNING - offers the flexibility for online learning and the area training calendar identifies scheduled training where you can learn and share experiences in a group setting with women just like you. E-Learning is a  learning option that goes beyond putting a regular document online. E-learner's receive information through slides, pop-up text boxes and audio video-clips.  Additional Information

AVAILABLE ONLINE TRAINING 
Requirements for the online training:  a high speed internet connection, a headset or microphone/speakers attached to computer, a quiet space to participate, and a phone

  • TRAINERS STREAM
    Are you interest in becoming a Trainer? Do you enjoy spending time with other Guiders?  Have a desire to share your passion for Guiding with other women in the organization? Looking for a new challenge or a new role in Guiding? Becoming a Trainer might be the right fit for you.   The Trainer Stream is a five module training that provides Guiders with a foundation in facilitation skills, needs assessment, training delivery and design, and training TEAM.

    We will be offering the Training Stream at Guide House beginning Friday, April 21st at 7pm and finishing up Saturday the 22nd at 5pm. There is no charge for the training and participants will be reimbursed for their mileage.

  • UAL- Understanding the Adult Learner
    When: Mar 25th 1:30 to 4:30pm
    Location Guide House- 3581 Dutch Village Rd Halifax
    Registration deadline: Mar 17th
    The Understanding the Adult Learner module gives Guiders insight not only into the different ways in which we learn, but also how adults differ from children in their learning needs. A great learning opportunity for any Guider who works as a part of a team (which we think means it's a great learning opportunity for all Guiders).  This module also serves as a prerequisite for the Trainer Stream.  Additional information and registration information is available at : UAL
