Welcome to Embers!

Fun activities for 7- and 8-year-olds

Embers is a place for fun activities for 7- and 8-year-olds. She’ll have a blast with old and new friends by using her imagination, exploring nature, gaining new skills and finding ways to “Lend a Hand” (the Motto) in her community.

Embers usually meet once per week for an hour to 90 minutes.

Embers can try new activities like:

  • Planting a seed and watching it grow
  • Creating healthy friendships and managing conflict
  • Meeting local women entrepreneurs or artists
  • Building with basic tools such as screwdrivers and hammers
  • Leading the group in their favourite game
  • Learning outdoor safety and camping fundamentals

FAQs about Embers

Q: My child turns seven later in the fall. Can she still join Embers?

A: Yes! If your child is currently six and is turning seven by December 31, she can join Embers for the current Guiding year. Girls turning seven on or after January 1 can register for Sparks and will be eligible to join Embers when registration opens for the next Guiding year. Check out our registration help page for information specific to the current Guiding year.
